1. Taken as we prepared to dock. The mountains haven't a blade of grass. This is the country of the Bible.
2. Talking with a Canadian friend who is an Oncologist.
Other photo's are of hotels surrounding the Bay.
Snorkeling in the Red Sea. Hard to believe!Sharm el Sheikh (just call her Sharm) is the capital of the “Red Sea Riviera”, Egypt’s holiday coast. Many Europeans vacation here. Sharm is located at the tip of the Sinai Peninsula of Egypt. Across the Gulf of Aqaba to the east is Saudi Arabia, to the west the Red Sea runs north to continue as the Suez Canal connection to the Mediterranean Sea, past Cairo to Alexandria. Today we snorkeled in the Bay over banks of coral sharply dropping off in sheer 50-foot cliffs that are both covered with exciting colors and shapes studded with exotically designed and colored fish. The water was clear and the sun shone down to brighten everything. Some of our friends went on an all day trip to Mount Sinai where at the base the St. Catherine’s monastery is located. This is where Moses had descended with the Ten Commandments and saw the burning bush. That would have been nice to
visit, but it was a 6-hour bus trip and we shy away from those. Tomorrow we
will be in Cairo. All passengers who want to do so, will leave the ship and
sightsee; then we will check into a hotel to spend the night. Stay Tuned.
